She is the member of Hon’ble Justice Wadhwa Commission on food security and public distribution system. She has an International Baccalaureate, from Kodaikanal International School,Tamil Nadu also a Journalism degree from Mount Carmel College and has been conferred a Ph.D. in law.
She is actively involved in social and environmental issues and issues relating to women and children, espousing these issues on Doordarshan, other television channels, All India Radio, Brahmaputra radio, various magazines and as a legal aid resource person with the District Legal Services Authority.
She is the member of Dibrugarh District Women Cell under Assam State Commission for Women.,associated in various capacities with Dibrugarh University, and an ICC member of Assam Medical College & Hospital, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Air Force Station, Chabua.
She is the Director of the tenth oldest company of the North-east, which is involved in pioneering CSR initiatives having donated, amongst others land and building for schools and the Alhaj Jalaluddin Ahmed Tuberculosis Hospital to the Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh, Assam.
