Born in the hills of Assam and later shifting to West Bengal, handloom have been at the very core of my heart. I have almost been amidst the looms and its creations all throughout my life. After having post graduated in English Literature I have been working as a professional radio jockey with all AIR for 28 years now. This has also enabled me to visit many remote corners of West Bengal while working for many government and non governmental projects. Having seen the looms come alive with my own eyes has also played a major role in motivating me to this direction. The calm and quiet weavers huts have my heart and soul. I reaffirm what Mahatma Gandhi had said that the handlooms ought not to be allowed to perish
